Lee has been training in Martial Arts since watching Bruce Lee films in the mid 1980s, He started with Kung Fu when he was 13. Then moved onto Karate. In his 20s football took over until aged 33 he stopped football via an injury and not wanting to do a traditional martial art he found KFM (the precursor to Defence Lab) in 2006. In 2013 he opened his Defence Lab and has been teaching Kids and Adults ever since.
Lee believes Martial Arts has had a life changing effect on his self esteem, confidence and character.
"I believe everyone should learn self defence, not only will you get fitter but you will increase your confidence and coordination. You will learn to deal with problems as they arise and when you think you have a 25-1 chance of being a victim of violent crime its basically an essential life skill.

JJ joined Defence Lab as a student in June 2013 and progressed through his gradings earning his Blackbelt in Nov 2017. Across 2018 he took the certified instructor training course (CIT) to gain his teaching accreditation.
